What is Drain Smart?
Drain Smart is a public art and environmental education program that uses murals to communicate the link between street litter, storm drains, and water quality. Municipal storm drains flow directly to our streams, rivers, and lakes, meaning litter and other pollutants on the street end up in our waterways too. The drain art makes people think twice before disposing of anything down a storm drain.
Where is Drain Smart?
For 2020, new murals will be painted in Little Rock (8), North Little Rock (2), and Bryant (2). Other cities with mural projects include Fayetteville-Springdale, Hot Springs, Arkadelphia, Pine Bluff, and Fort Smith.
