In 2018, Audubon began an annual event of celebrating central Arkansas birds through BirdLR. In 2022, we expanded to include the entire state of Arkansas through BirdAR.

BirdAR celebrates the birds of Arkansas by inspiring people to find birds. The BirdAR Birdathon is also a fun way to raise money for Audubon's bird conservation and environmental education work at the Little Rock Audubon Center.  

There are two ways to participate: 

1. Field Birdathon Team
2. Backyard Birdathon Team

Each team chooses any day from April 29 to May 21 to find the most birds.

Bird Bash, our BirdAR celebration, is Wednesday, May 24 from 7-8pm. The 2023 event will be held virtually so teams from across the state can participate.
